Concentra Telemed Expands to More States, Reaching More Employees
Expansion to Three More States Offers Employers and Injured Workers More Options for Injury Care
ADDISON, Texas — January 31, 2018 — Concentra, the nation’s largest provider of occupational medicine, today announced expanded availability of its telemedicine platform, Concentra Telemed,TM offering trusted workers’ compensation injury care via telemedicine to employers and their employees. This expansion into Illinois, Michigan, and New Mexico is part of an aggressive growth plan for Concentra’s telemedicine solution to reach a majority of states by the end of 2018.
After a successful launch in California, the company chose Illinois, Michigan, and New Mexico for expansion due to the presence of large employer communities, an abundance of Concentra medical centers, and a favorable regulatory environment for workers’ compensation telemedicine. Now, more than 23 million employees can access workers’ compensation injury care using Concentra Telemed.
“These additional states are the first of many to be rolled out throughout the year, and marks an important milestone in our commitment to deliver innovative products and services that improve the health of America’s workforce, one patient at a time” said Concentra Chief Executive Officer Keith Newton. “Building on our experience in treating employees via telemedicine across California, we are excited to offer our proven telemedicine model in additional states.”
Concentra Telemed leverages the company’s 35+ years in occupational medicine and workplace health to bring simple, trusted medical care directly to employees via a video connection on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Concentra’s experienced clinicians provide care to injured workers so they receive a timely diagnosis and immediate treatment, eliminating the need for transportation to a medical center. These virtual visits deliver high patient satisfaction and improved productivity, while limiting costs to the employer.
While others in the market have introduced similar platforms that connect with affiliated physicians or care networks, Concentra Telemed is part of a total access solution for employers, payors and employees which includes our experienced clinicians using a proven practice model and an integrated platform to deliver expert care.
