Concentra Selects Former Sedgwick Executive to Lead Concentra Telemed

ADDISON, Texas – August 25, 2023 – Jim Harvey joins Concentra® after serving as Vice President of Managed Care Practice at Sedgwick®, where he spent nearly 25 years leading innovative solutions in workers’ compensation and supporting national delivery of integrated health care and return-to-work management. Among other achievements, Jim was involved in the development and national rollout of Sedgwick’s integrated health care management and provider benchmarking solutions, as well as in numerous new business acquisitions.

After Sedgwick, Harvey took an executive role at Ascellus™, a national telehealth network of physicians delivering evidence-based treatment protocols for pain management, workplace trauma, and behavioral health care. At Ascellus, Harvey oversaw national and strategic account management and growth and deepened his understanding of the rapidly growing telemedicine field. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

“With his proven experience in leading and expanding innovative programs in workers’ compensation, Jim is an excellent choice to lead our Concentra Telemed® business line,” said Concentra President Matt DiCanio. “His strategic vision and experience in telehealth will help us continue to expand Concentra Telemed to increase access to care for employees and streamline the workers’ compensation process for employers and payors.”

“I believe the burgeoning telemedicine field will continue to improve quality of care and productivity for injured workers through continuously improving technology and more diverse treatment options,” said Harvey. “Telemedicine is an essential component for Concentra’s mission of improving the health of America’s workforce, one patient at a time, and I am thrilled to join such a highly regarded organization and excellent team.”

Launched in 2017, Concentra Telemed was the first telemedicine product with a network of experienced occupational medicine physicians and an integrated workflow designed to make the workers’ compensation process easier for payors, employers, and their employees. Since 2017, almost 300,000 virtual visits have been conducted via Concentra Telemed. Today, 97 percent of patients seen via Concentra Telemed are recommended for return to work, and the platform boasts a 4.7 out of 5 patient satisfaction rating.
