Concentra Selects Former Macy’s Exec Schnure as Telemedicine VP

ADDISON, Texas — June 6, 2017 — Concentra, the nation’s leading provider in occupational medicine, announced today the appointment of Ann Schnure as Vice President of Concentra Telemedicine, supporting the company’s operations and expansion into the telehealth space.

Schnure joins Concentra after serving as Vice President of Risk Management at Macy's, Inc, where she successfully led the expansion of the company's self-insured, self-administered program, during corporate growth to 150,000 employees, multiple corporate acquisitions, managed care innovations and state system reforms. During her tenure, Schnure oversaw the Workers’ Compensation program for Macy's Department Stores, and brings to Concentra more than 30 years' experience in the claims/risk industry. She is a passionate advocate for telemedicine service and is active in the industry. She is a graduate of Wilmington College, has CPCU, AIC and LMI designations.

“With her proven experience in leading and expanding innovative programs for a large-scale entity like Macys, as well as her expertise in worker's compensation, Ann is the perfect addition to lead our telemedicine efforts,” said Concentra Chief Executive Officer Keith Newton. “As Concentra continues to expand its telemedicine offering to patients and customers, Ann’s strategic vision and unique skill set will help us deliver this valuable solution.”

"I'm excited to join Concentra and continue my efforts to improve worker health at such an established, highly regarded company" said Schnure. "I've been passionate about the potential of telemedicine for a long time and am thrilled to be part of an established health care organization with clinical expertise, proven solutions, and a well-designed technology platform to make the promise of telemedicine a reality in workers’ compensation."

Launched earlier this year, Concentra Telemed leverages the company’s expertise in occupational medicine and workplace health to bring convenient, trusted medical care directly to employees via a virtual connection to Concentra’s experienced physicians. Concentra’s platform is the first telemedicine product with an integrated EHR practice management system, and a network of experienced occupational medicine physicians, designed to make the workers’ compensation process easier for payors, employers and their employees.

Concentra currently offers occupational medicine and urgent care services to employees through its network of 400+ community-based medical centers and onsite facilities. The addition of telemedicine services adds convenience for employees while also connecting to a Concentra medical center for follow-up treatment, specialist care, or physical therapy, if recommended. Telemedicine preserves the confidentiality of the patient-physician relationship with secure, HIPAA-compliant transactions, and is an accepted application of medical care in most states.
