Concentra Colleague Spotlight: Michelle Hernandez

Concentra’s values – a healing focus, a selfless heart, a tireless resolve – are the core of our commitment to improving the patient experience. We’re celebrating “The Concentra Difference” by putting the spotlight on a colleague who lives out these values every day.

Michelle Hernandez is a Lead Front Office Specialist at our Pullman District clinic in Chicago, where she optimizes the patient experience and handles various administrative duties. She began her career at Concentra just over four years ago after graduating from the Medical Assistant (MA) program at the National Latino Education Institute in Chicago. In Michelle’s four-year tenure with Concentra, she climbed the ranks from back office medical assistant to front office lead due to her eagerness to learn, calm and polite demeanor, and her patient-focused mentality.

Michelle is a true Chicagoan and loves the community she serves. She’s consistently respectful, patient, and kind, and always exhibits a positive attitude, which is evident to her fellow colleagues and patients. In her time with Concentra, Michelle has become well-versed in all aspects of the center, and she loves sharing her knowledge and experience with other colleagues. Her colleagues view Michelle as a true leader, and when multiple transitions were taking place at the center, she was the anchor that held the team together.

With a passion for supporting her team and providing excellent patient care, Michelle has found a lot of success as a front office lead, even when navigating difficult conversations. Michelle has developed great relationships with important employers, and is often asked for by name. Always striving to do more for her center, Michelle aspires to become an Operational Director, and we have no doubt that a role like that is in her near future.

Michelle has a young child, and in her spare time she enjoys going to the aquarium, playing at the park, and incorporating as much family time as possible. She is always actively looking for new experiences to share with her family, which speaks to her ability to engage with all her patients and colleagues alike.

Michelle Hernandez is an amazing colleague, leader, and mom. She deserves recognition for her continued focus on our patients and our brand. Michelle – thank you for taking pride in your role and advocating Concentra’s Orange Book Values in everything you do!
