The Sr Accountant, IT is responsible for the accounting for Concentra's IT support departments and projects. The Sr Accountant, IT will work with leadership on monthly accounting, analysis and reporting, while continuously maintaining all controls, following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

- Responsible for all of the accounting activities for assigned IT support departments in the company, including journal entries, financial analysis and reporting.
- Work with IT leadership of assigned support departments and Director, IT Finance Planning and Analysis on forecasts and budgets.
- Demonstrates ability to work with sensitive information, such as compensation, and maintain confidentiality.
- Understand and apply GAAP treatment and Concentra policies regarding capitalization and proper accounting of IT purchases and projects.
- Review invoices for proper coding and treatment - CER, capital vs expense, prepaid amortization, etc.
- Validate consolidated vendor invoices.
- Calculate and record capitalized labor and FTEs.
- Understand the IT purchasing system and accurately use information from the system for accruals and other monthly accounting entries.
- Coordinate with IT leadership for construction in progress updates as well as transfers / disposals to ensure proper accounting.
- Review assets additions in clearing accounts and load to the subledger.
- Prepare monthly allocations.
- Participate in capital expenditure budget preparation.
- Assist with audit support when needed.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Prepare IT monthly reporting packages
- Participate in other projects, analysis or reporting as requested by leadership.
- Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree Major: Accounting or Finance degree Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), critical problem solving and analytical skills; detail oriented.
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent computer skills, experience with Oracle and Hyperion a plus.
