Concentra awarded Well Workplace by Wisconsin Wellness Council

Concentra, a national health and wellness company, was recently presented with a Well Workplace Award by the Wellness Council of Wisconsin, along with its national affiliate, The Wellness Councils of America. Concentra is among seventeen companies that were recently presented with a Well Workplace Award, and join eighteen previous winners in 2009 for a total of 35 new Well Workplace Awards in 2009.

All eight Concentra medical centers throughout Wisconsin were selected as a winner in the Small Business Well Workplace category. The Well Workplace Award recognizes an organization for its commitment to the health and well-being of employees. Concentra was selected for its commitment to help employers improve and maintain the health and well-being of their most valuable asset–the employees. Through its commitment to improve the health of others, Concentra has become invaluable to numerous companies by helping to minimize health care claims, and maximize the health and well-being of workers. The Well Workplace designation is awarded throughout the year to employers from around the nation.

"Not only has Concentra created a world-class wellness program, but they have also worked to integrate wellness programming into its vision and mission," commented David Hunnicutt, President of the Wellness Councils of America. "Truly, Concentra is forging new ground in workplace wellness–linking health promotion objectives to business outcomes."

The Well Workplace Awards initiative is driven by a rigorous set of criteria. Since its inception in 1991, over 1,000 organizations, ranging from educational institutions to organizations in both the public and private sector, have earned the Well Workplace Award and are recognized as some of America's Healthiest Companies.

"We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition for the various services and programs we provide to keep employees healthy and productive," said Concentra Regional Medical Director Maja Jurisic, M.D. "It affirms Concentra as a leading provider of health and wellness services, and our ability to improve the lives of the patients we serve. We look forward to building on this designation and maintaining our position as a well workplace in Wisconsin."

As a leader in occupational and primary health care services, Concentra understands the importance and benefits that can be achieved through increased access to quality health care services, and is taking an active role in promoting wellness and prevention. Through advanced delivery methods and comprehensive health and wellness programs, Concentra is improving America's health, one patient at a time.

The Wellness Council was founded in 1985 by the Wisconsin business community. Membership has grown from 9 founding companies to over 400 organizations representing 420,000 employees. With more than 3000+ member organizations located throughout North America, WELCOA is highly recognized and regarded for their innovative and results-oriented approach to worksite wellness.
