Rosenda obtained her occupational therapy degree from university of Puerto Rico in 1979. During her long career she has worked in pediatrics, geriatrics and outpatient orthopedic. She lectured as adjunct professor at Florida International university teaching neuro-rehabilitation for 16 years. She completed a certification of clinical management and treatment of upper quadrant from Drexel University. Rosenda is currently working on her kinesio tapping certification.
A tragic event to her cousin was the catalyst to awaken her passion for helping people to achieve functional independence and purse a career in occupational therapy. She was eight years old when her cousin was electrocuted while working on electrical service lines. He was severely burned and his left arm was amputated. She learned and assisted him with stumped wrapping, and later she was fascinated with the intricacy of the function and skills required to perform daily activities with use of upper prosthesis.
Rosenda has been with Concentra since 2002. She has been instrumental in growing the occupational therapy service in the Florida market. She has established a close working relationship with Concentra Advance Specialist (CAS) Dr. Tosca Kinchelow and Dr. Stephen Alex who both constantly express their trust and satisfaction with Rosenda's patient care skills. Rosenda's fluency in Spanish, English and working knowledge in French enhance her ability to communicate, build trust and connect with her patients. These days her dedication and commitment to help people achieve maximal functional levels is experienced on a daily basis by all her patients. She truly embodies the Concentra's mission of changing America's health one patient at time.
On her leisure time Rosenda enjoys organic gardening and taking care of her 3 cats and 2 dogs and her butterflies garden which serves as a station for Monarch butterflies. On special occasions and holidays you will find Rosenda cooking and entertaining family and friends at home. She completes the party by singing while accompanied by her husband with the guitar and the harmonica.
