Overview

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for using experience and judgment under general supervision on accounting activities and reporting for the healthcare revenue cycle.    This position will report directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Accounting. They will ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service by putting all customers (internal and external) first and displaying:

Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Completes a full revenue cycle accounting close process for assigned portfolios
  • Performs general ledger maintenance, financial statement analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain support as necessary
  • Perform, assess and analyze account reconciliations
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Other assignments as given
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience and/or ability and understanding of General Ledger accounting
  • Experience with bank account reconciliations or other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Experience in a challenging, complex financial reporting environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced structured corporate environment
  • Strong problem solver
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mid-level to advanced Excel skills required
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Oracle or other ERP experience
  • Strong desire to excel
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task
  • 1-2 years’ experience with some of that experience in revenue cycle management, account reconciliation and variance analysis preferred
  • Position requires confidentiality requiring secure information management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
