The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will be responsible for providing emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. Perform triage and provide urgent care to patients. Deliver high-quality patient care in line with established protocols. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment ensuring every patient is treated with quality clinical care and is provided a welcoming and respectful experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- May perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing - training provided
- Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing
- May be required to perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.) - training provided
- Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, examination of patient, and knowledge of emergency medical practice
- Responsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician as well as triaging emergent patients as needed
- May assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care
- Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure and make quick decisions
- Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician and in accordance with state regulations and standing orders
- Administer prescribed first-aid treatment potentially performing such activities as application of splints, administration of oxygen or intravenous injections, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation
- At the direction of the Center Medical Director, communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of patients at treatment facility
- Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
- Maintain supplies, clean equipment and onsite clinic
- Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly
- Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
- Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
- Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
- Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required
- Assist client with wellness activities
- Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education/Credentials:
- High School Diploma or GED; Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
- Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications a plus
- OSHA safety certifications or experience a plus
- ARC/CPR Instructor a plus
Job-Related Experience
- Customarily has at least the following experience: 3 years
- 911 experience required
- Fire Fighter experience a plus

Physical/Mental Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously sitting for extended periods, frequently to occasionally standing and walking. May continuously utilize hands and fingers for typing, flex or extend wrist to perform other job-related tasks. The employee is continuously required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate PC, office equipment and/or other equipment. Due to the nature of this position, an employee can expect heavy computer usage requiring wrist flexion/extension for at least 8 hours per day. Occasional stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching or overhead reaching, and climbing in the performance of work. The ability to hear and understand with clarity and detect sound, and have conversations with staff, customers, management, etc. Hearing within the acceptable range for telephone and in-person contacts. Normal or corrected vision to acceptable levels for office work. The ability to lift/carry up to 10 pounds.

Travel: Minimal overnight travel up to 10% by land or air may be required of employee in this position. While travelling the employee may encounter varying weather conditions, road and walking surfaces and will need to adjust to those conditions (i.e., inclement weather, slippery surfaces, wet surfaces, uneven surfaces, humid, cold or hot temperatures, etc.) Also, while travelling the employee will need to adjust to the physical demands that may include: lifting to place luggage in overhead bin(s), standing in line(s), walking, sitting for unknown periods of time, and other physical demands that travelling may impose on a person.
