Charge Entry Specialist
JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision is responsible for timely and accurate entry of charges for ancillary services, also supports Central Business Office Director and Supervisor with various Central Business Office administrative and operational functions in accordance with Concentra policies, practices and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs on-site billing and collection for all Central Business Office
- Coordinates time sheets for entering charges through billing and collection software
- Performs timely and accurate posting of all ancillary charges to system
- Researches billing and charge entry issues or questions
- Answers incoming requests from internal and external customers
- Manages accounts receivable for on-sites and reports any collection or billing issues to Central Business Office Supervisor and Director
- Maintains time cards for payroll
- Maintains employee absentee calendar
- Assists with month end close
- Assists Central Business Office Director and Supervisors with other duties and projects as assigned
- Assists Central Business Office Director and Supervisors on the day to day operations of the Central Business Office
- Interacts directly with on-site personnel in support of the billing and collection process
- Assists Central Business Office Director and Supervisors on assigned projects
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, prefer AA degree
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- 6 months - 1 year office experience
DEMONSTRATED JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Experience with OccuSource, Billing and Collection Software, and protocols
- Knowledge of all Central Business Office departments and functions
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to be a team player
- Computer skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to operate 10 key numerical pad by touch
- Typing skills 30-45wpm
- Familiarity of current workers compensation terminology
- Familiarity of CPT and ICD-9 coding
- Excellent phone and communication skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and multitask under deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to problem solve
