The Business Intelligence (BI) MicroStrategy Analyst II is responsible for providing analysis and solution of complex business process and technical problems with a focus on improving operational effectiveness and excellence, delivering quality customer service, as well as, incorporating and adhering to requirements defined by Concentra technology standards.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in requirements discussion with business and stakeholders to understand the business intelligence solution requirements
  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Lead full life cycle BI development projects
  • Design and build pixel perfect report documents and interactive dashboards
  • Implement web-based ad-hoc reporting
  • Perform testing including Unit, Integration, Performance and Regression testing
  • Participate in troubleshooting of issues post-production or as part of operational support
  • Collaborate with technical experts and business units as needed during the project
  • Develop and manage project documentation deliverables
  • Work with the team, subject matter experts and peers to ensure that the final solution meets the highest quality standards

Qualifications

Education/Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Intelligence or Data Analysis from an accredited college or university
  • In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Current on latest data warehousing concepts and new methods in ETL via Udemy or other courses

 

Job-related Experience

  • Customarily has at least 5 years of experience to include:
    • Customarily has at least 4 years hands-on experience in data integration, business intelligence, reporting, and analytics or related projects
    • Customarily has at least 4 years of experience working with BI on various DBMS platforms
    • Customarily has at least at least 3 years of experience working as a senior developer on MicroStrategy using application development methodologies (i.e., SDLC) such as Waterfall and Agile
    • Customarily has at least 4 years of MicroStrategy development experience
    • Customarily has at least 1 years of healthcare data management experience
    • Customarily has at least 3 years of experience working on MicroStrategy tools including MicroStrategy Architect
    • Customarily has at least 3 years of experience working on RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL server, Teradata and possessing expert knowledge of SQL
    • Customarily has at least at least 1 years of project management experience with end-to-end implementation (requirements through support) building enterprise data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores or related business intelligence solutions
  • Experience working with XMLs, proprietary file sources preferred
