Responsibilities

The X-Ray-PACS/Digital Systems Manager manages all Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and digital x-ray system functions for Concentra centers including proactive oversight of PACS, assistance in training and support of all radiology colleagues in accordance with Concentra policies, practices and procedures. The X-Ray-PACS/Digital Systems Manager specializes in planning, administrating, monitoring, managing, and evaluating the direct delivery of imaging services to patients.


THE DETAILS

  • Oversee and coordinate the operational administration and proactive management of PACS and digital x-ray systems
  • Provide training and direction for x-ray colleagues and clinicians on PACS and digital x-ray equipment workflows
  • Provide project management for PACS and digital x-ray initiatives, furthering alignment across Concentra departments
  • Participate in upgrade planning, testing, validation, and implementation. Assist in process improvement efforts.
  • Maintain knowledgebase and workflows on PACS and monitor logs for errors in application
  • Monitor tests on radiology systems and ensure effective implementation of all test processes, analyze results, and recommend upgrades and enhancements as technologies evolve
  • Identify gaps and work with IS and vendors to provide solutions to the Radiology Leadership Team
  • Identify PACS/Digital X-Ray center-based workflow training issues and provide feedback to Regional Radiology Managers
  • Work with Regional Radiology Managers to resolve PACS and digital x-ray systems questions and concerns for all centers, x-ray colleagues, administrators, and clinicians
  • Work with Regional Radiology Managers and IS on projects concerning PACS and digital x-ray installations

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Healthcare or Information Technology related fields from an accredited college or university or a combination of equivalent education and work experience
  • In lieu of an undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college is equal to one year of directly related work experience and vice versa
  • ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist or extensive knowledge of Diagnostic X-ray preferred

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Customarily has two or more years of experience as a PACS Administrator in a multi-location setting
  • Possess strong understanding of radiology workflow and various digital x-ray systems
  • Possess strong technical skills in Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) and Health Level Seven International (HL7)

  • Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills and a firm commitment to quality
  • Exhibit good communication skills (written and oral). Ability to discuss technical components with non-technical users including physicians, directors and system users
  • Ability to develop and present technical training
  • Keen attention to detail and organizational skills that enable the efficient management of time, workload and resources
  • Possess innovative and creative thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Ability to resolve issues in an effective and timely manner
  • Demonstrated team player in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a structured corporate environment
  • Proficient in computer application skills to include but not limited to Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
