Physical Therapy

An Active Approach to Speed Healing

What is Physical Therapy?

After an injury, the area around your injury may be hard to move or painful. While medications can help with the pain, they won’t get you back to where you were before the injury. That’s where physical therapy comes in. Physical therapy helps you get back to normal function after an injury. It’s a way of treating injuries (and some illnesses) with physical exercises, heat, and massage that help you return your body back to the way it used to be, before you were injured.

      Keys to Physical Therapy

      Physical Therapy for Work Injuries

Concentra® clinicians are trained to recognize occupational injuries that fall outside the scope of normal clinical care and require therapy for better recovery. Unlike many occupational medicine and urgent care providers, Concentra offers in-house physical therapy, which makes it easy for you to be evaluated and treated promptly for most work-related conditions. Research has shown that when therapists and physicians are located in the same medical facility, they can collaborate more easily and help you return to normal life faster.

Our therapists share therapy updates regularly with our treating clinicians. And during treatment, our staff updates your employer on your return-to-work treatment status.

Workers’ Compensation Billing for Physical Therapy

If physical therapy is required during your workers’ compensation case, billing is coordinated between Concentra and your employer, or your employer’s workers’ compensation payor. For more information, please contact your local Concentra medical center or talk to your employer.

Physical Therapy for Non-work Related Injuries

At Concentra, our physical therapists excel at treating your injury and getting you back to normal life quickly after you’re hurt. If you visit Concentra and your treating clinician refers you to physical therapy, chances are a therapist will be down the hall. Our in-house physical therapy makes it easy to get fully treated under one roof. And while undergoing therapy, we will share rehab and recovery updates with your primary care provider.

      Patient Billing for Physical Therapy

If you’re receiving physical therapy for a personal injury, Concentra coordinates billing directly with you and your health insurance provider. We accept most forms of private or group health insurance, as well as military health insurance such as Tricare.
