What is a job site analysis?
Concentra provides a full range of functional-based job site analysis services and ergonomic assessments to identify areas of improvements and/or to develop functional-based job descriptions. A job site analysis is the process of describing and recording aspects of jobs and specifying the skills and other requirements necessary to perform the job. The purpose of conducting a job analysis is to document the requirements of a job and the work performed. Methods include interviews with incumbents and supervisors, questionnaires, observation, and gathering background information.
How Concentra Can Help
Concentra's team of specialists can travel to an employer's worksite to analyze the essential functions of a particular job. From this job site analysis information, Concentra can develop an objective, job-specific pre-placement exam, called a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), based on the tenets of Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
This exam can then be administered to potential employees prior to starting employment to assess an applicant's ability to perform the essential job functions. Having objective information from the job site analysis also helps physicians and therapists understand the job functions and expedite the return-to-work process if illness or injury should occur - or if the employee is away from the job due to other medical issues.
