CPR, First Aid, and AED Training
Education and Training on CPR, First Aid, and AED
Specializing in the field of occupational medicine, Concentra provides training for a variety of workplace injuries and issues, including CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), first aid, and AED (automated external defibrillator) training. These training programs encourage workplace safety and health to prevent injuries, illnesses, and fatalities on the job.
CPR and first aid training
Sudden, unexpected cardiac arrest can occur at any time, and at any place, including the workplace. To ensure that injured or ill employees have immediate access to valuable first aid treatment, employers may assemble a team of "First Responders" - a group of employees who have undergone CPR, first aid and AED training, and are required to render aid in an emergency. CPR, first aid, and AED training can greatly increase the chance of survival should a person experience cardiac arrest or other serious incidents in the workplace.
AED training
An automated external defibrillator or AED, is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses potentially life-threatening heart problems, and is an important lifesaving technology. AEDs are designed to be used by laypersons who have received proper CPR, first aid, and AED training. With proper AED training and education, certified employees in the construction, manufacturing, airline, law enforcement, firefighting, and security industries can act as "First Responders", thus being prepared if a crisis should occur.
Concentra delivers CPR and first aid training through the American Heart Association and American Safety and Health Institute, respectively. AED training and education is in accordance with the American Heart Association. Services may be grouped together or a la carte (for example, CPR only, AED only) based on a client's need for CPR, first aid, and AED training.
