Concentra Urgent Care is proud to announce that Alan Ayers, Vice-President of Strategy and Execution, is the recipient of a 2011 Gold Award for Best How-To Article in a Healthcare Publication from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE). Ayers received the award for his article, “Protecting the Center from Sexual Harassment Claims” in the April 2010 issue of the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine (JUCM).
ASHPE recognizes outstanding editorial excellence and achievement in healthcare publications. The annual competition provides an opportunity for writers, contributors, and editors to measure their efforts against the best the healthcare sector has to offer.
“I am so pleased to be recognized by ASHPE for the article, and the collective efforts of the JUCM. I am always looking at ways to share information and raise awareness of the various issues faced by the urgent care industry,” said Alan Ayers of his recognition. “The JUCM is committed to providing high quality editorial content to the growing field of urgent care practitioners, and is leading the visibility of the industry through award-winning information.”
The article “Protecting the Center from Sexual Harassment Claims” emphasized the need for firm, well-defined policies regarding improper behavior among employees. Sexual harassment claims can be costly for an urgent care operator, and can have negative effects on a center’s operations. This award-winning article gives practitioners and owners what they need to know to prevent and resolve any sexual harassment issues.
Alan Ayers is a practice management content advisor to the Urgent Care Association of America and vice president of strategy and execution for Concentra Urgent Care in Dallas.
