At this month’s annual meeting of WOEMA, the Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association, two Concentra clinicians will serve in prominent leadership roles. Roger Belcourt, MD, MPH, FACOEM, the current president-elect of WOEMA, will assume the role of president, and Dinesh Govindarao, MD, MPH, FACOEM, will continue as treasurer.

Dr. Belcourt, who is based in Reno, Nevada, is regional medical director of Concentra’s Nevada and Oregon region, with responsibility for 13 Concentra centers in metropolitan Reno, Las Vegas, and Portland. Dr. Govindarao is the national medical director for the Concentra Worksites and At Work division. He is based in Oakland.

WOEMA is the largest component of ACOEM, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. It has oversight of members in California, Nevada, Hawaii Utah, and Arizona. According to Dr. Belcourt, WOEMA is a very active component that generates significant legislative and educational initiatives. Moreover, three of the last five ACOEM presidents have come from WOEMA.

Dr. Govindarao says that attendance at the Association’s annual meetings has remained strong and even risen despite the down economy. The 2009 meeting was in Arizona, this year’s is in Newport Beach, and 2011 will be in Las Vegas.

Concentra will also be featured as a funding sponsor of this year’s annual meeting.
