Concentra’s Orange Book recently received a 2010 American In-house Design Award from Graphic Design USA. The award recognizes organizations and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding work in the field of graphic design across all types of media, including print, collateral, advertising, sales, promotions, logos, Internet and packaging. Concentra’s Orange Book won for Best Print Piece.
Developed in 2009, the Orange Book is a pocket-sized manual that offers simple ways for colleagues to live out the company’s philosophy, in every role or task. The Orange Book was developed by Concentra’s in-house marketing team, with contributions from numerous colleagues. From its tactile feel, to the hand-drawn illustrations, to the real-life stories of great care, the Orange Book captures the essence of Concentra’s patient-focus.
More than 4,000 entries were submitted to Graphic Design USA for consideration in the In-house Design Award contest, the largest amount of entries the organization has ever received. Materials eligible for consideration included: print and collateral, package design and in-store graphics, advertising and sales promotion, invitations and announcements, direct mail and catalogs, magazines and books, broadcast and film, and interactive internet pieces. Each entry is judged individually based on design excellence and overall impact.
Pieces were submitted by Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial start-ups, consumer and business-to-business ventures, political and religious organizations, governments and trade associations, and universities and cultural institutions.
In the end, only 600 pieces were selected as winners, recognizing the best and brightest materials, and the most creative minds of our time. Concentra joins the ranks of other winning companies that include Pepsi, Bloomberg, NPR, Rubbermaid and DirectTV.
