NRCME Certification for medical examiners

Certification prep and education

NRCME Certification with Concentra

Concentra® performs more than 900,000 Department of Transportation (DOT) exams per year and our clinicians are national experts in DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. To train our medical examiners and help them earn National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) certification, we produce a NRCME training course. This in-depth training course, created by Concentra experts, is open to all clinicians, including those not affiliated with Concentra.

Details About the Curriculum

Our curriculum is built on clinical knowledge and designed for use beyond the certification exam. The training course prepares you to pass the NRCME certification exam and is comparable to other programs while being less expensive and time-consuming. Topics include:

  • The medical examiner’s role
  • Driver medical history and examination
  • Driver testing and certification

Why Concentra for NRCME Certification Prep?

Who is Eligible for the Course?

All medical examiners who conduct DOT physical examinations for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers are required to complete training on the FMCSA’s physical qualification standards and must be listed on the NRCME.

Certified medical examiners must complete FMCSA-sponsored periodic training every five years to refresh their knowledge and stay updated on any changes to the FMCSA guidelines. They are required to complete recertification training and testing every ten years.
