Pneumoconiosis
Pneumoconiosis and lung diseases
Pneumoconiosis are a group of lung diseases that result from employees being exposed to certain particles on the jobsite. The primary pneumoconiosis are caused by asbestos, silica, and coal dust. Dust containing aluminum, antimony, barium, graphite, iron, kaolin, mica, talc, and other substances that get trapped in the lungs can also lead to pneumoconiosis, although they are less common.
How pneumoconioies affects your business
Pneumoconiosis progress slowly over time. When severe, they can lead to lung damage, disability, and even premature death. However, most of them can be prevented through proper monitoring, compliance, and training programs. Because pneumoconiosis are avoidable, the best thing you can do is implement a comprehensive health and safety program.
