Frozen Shoulder
What is frozen shoulder?
A frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is a loss of motion in the shoulder joint. It can be caused by injury, inflammation, scarring, and shrinking of the capsule that surrounds the shoulder. Individuals with diabetes, arthritis, or those who have recently undergone chest or breast surgery also have a greater incidence of frozen shoulder.
Symptoms of Frozen Shoulder
The most significant symptom is a limited range of motion in the shoulder joint. There may also be pain or swelling at the joint.
