I couldn't contain myself from sharing the most amazing patient care experience I received at the Houston Kirby location — one that I have never received at any other urgent and emergency room center. From the time I walked through the door to leaving, each staffer throughout my visit exceeded expectations with their delivery of service and quality of care.

Compelled to share

I had to contact someone about my care. My first visit after my injury was so efficient and quick. They took me in [and] they were very careful when they took x-rays of my broken toe. They spoke to me as an equal and with deep concern. The next visit I met my doctor, [and he was] better than my personal doctor. He drew pictures of my injury and explained everything every time I visited. He did not make me feel that he was in a hurry or rushed. He would answer all questions and he also appeared very concerned about me. I have not met a staff like that before. I made a point to inform them all that they were the most pleasant group of people that I have met. And I wanted to thank them for their services and hope that more people have and will do the same (thank them).

Thankful for thorough medical providers

I want to express my deepest appreciation to Dr. M–, who recently found something of concern in my EKG while at an AtWork event in Rural Hall, NC. Dr. M– asked me to follow up with my family doctor, who dismissed the findings as ‘inconsequential,’ but told me he wanted me to see a specialist for follow-up testing. I am told that I have a serious heart problem which will require surgery in the near future. It is somewhat of a miracle that someone could notice something like this and question it. My physicians feel that I am very lucky to have had someone like Dr. M– look at my EKG.

I have had three different doctors in two different states, and [none of them] seemed to have thought my EKG was a problem. From what I’ve been told, if this condition had gone undiagnosed, it could have been potentially fatal.

I am so appreciative for people like Dr. M–! It would be so easy to take an assignment as she did, (see 75 people in two days), and simply treat it as a job where everyone is just a number. Dr. M–, my most sincere thanks to you and your team for giving me a chance.

Helpful staff and excellent care

After being hurt on the job, I was told I had to go to Concentra. As an ER nurse, this meant I had to go to a place with nurses and doctors I didn’t know, and who didn’t know me.

Everyone was helpful, from the administrative staff that assisted me in filling out paperwork to the Center Operations Director who made me feel like I mattered. He offered to adjust the wheelchair which was waiting for me when I arrived at the center.

I experienced a minor delay while waiting to see the doctor; however, the director gave continuous updates to the patients in the waiting room and offered coffee, bottled water, and snacks because of the treatment delay. Once I was seen, the doctor took plenty of time to discuss my case and the radiologist was gentle and assisted me with placing my ankle on the table. The physical therapist offered great instruction, and I was properly fitted with a brace. Upon checkout, the staff was smiling and my next appointment was scheduled.

I have been to Concentra often, and the helpful, smiling, informative staff continues to offer excellent care. I have told everyone at my place of business that they need to go to Concentra and see how medicine and patient care can be done, with compassion and caring.

An amazing urgent care experience

I wanted to let everyone know what my experience was like at the Kirby Drive medical center in Houston, Texas. I had the most amazing experience in an urgent care type of setting. Usually it’s a very uncomfortable situation – very strained and unprofessional. I have never been to a place where everyone was both on-point and polite. [The entire staff] treated me like I was the only patient there that needed attention, even though the center was very busy with many patients. I would like to say thank you to you guys, because the Kirby center is amazing.

An Army man’s compliment

I wanted to inform you that I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of care I received today. The woman who did the initial screening and blood draws (K—) was very considerate and made sure that she did not sacrifice compassion or thoroughness for the sake of time.

I was seen by Dr. W— and he was very understanding and showed genuine concern. Being in the Army, I have been subjected to many medical screenings and I can honestly say I don’t think the quality of care I experienced can even be compared to what I received today. These two individuals are shining examples of what a Healthcare provider should strive to be.

Full-time support

I came in [to your center] within 1/2 hour of closing time, and you’d never know it…Everyone was wonderful! This was an important appointment for me. My job gave me additional hours so that I could become full-time…I could start immediately, after my drug test, so with your facility taking me immediately after I finished work, I could start my additional hours within a week. In 90 days I will have my own benefits!…Now I will be able to work and support myself and my kids on my own. Thanks to your facility, I can do this immediately. They didn’t know my situation; I didn’t want to hold them up from going home to their own families. Please let them know that they were my angels that day, along with my bosses and coworkers…I will never be able to thank them enough!

Outstanding out of town care

I am writing to commend the professionalism and wonderful care I recently received. While on a recent business trip to Atlanta, I developed a severe finger infection and was sent to the Concentra Urgent Care office. Dr. N— was not only efficient and thorough in her examination and care, but took the time to make sure I understood all the tests that she was planning on executing, and even did some online research for me, so that I could have the information for future reference. Thank you for caring to employ such dedicated doctors as Dr. N—. Because of my experience with her, I would not hesitate to recommend your fine services to anyone in the future.

Skilled professionals

I just wanted to alert you of all the wonderful professional assets (staff) you have at the Anaheim office right down to the front desk.
I am a Flight Attendant for United Airlines and injured my back on the airplane. I thought I was never going to recover due to the severity of the pain and lack of movement. I was seen by Dr. M— in the Anaheim office and was sent to Concentra physical therapy and was treated by E— and his staff. Together they monitored my progress and almost pinned it down to the day I would recover and the percentage. Dr. M—’s diagnosis and advice were right on target. It is so nice to finally see some true professionals that know what they are doing in the medical industry. Everyone’s true professionalism should not go unrewarded!

Clean, comfortable care

I recently had a very painful infected hangnail. After two weeks, I finally decided to go to an urgent care facility and ended up at your clinic in downtown Denver. I had avoided going to a clinic for the several reasons: billing would be a hassle, too many insurance forms to fill out, it would take me all morning to get anyone to see me and receive treatment, and so on.

To my delight, none of these happened on that morning. The receptionist was quick and attentive, even friendly. The nurse came to get me, and he was just as friendly showing me to my room. The doctor told me what I had, drew me a picture of what he was going to do, and talked to me through the procedure. When he was done, he told me how to care for it, and then, to my disbelief, even gave me supplies to re-apply my bandage for the next five days! Checkout was just as quick and easy.

All of this took place in a facility that can only be described as spotless and comfortable. This was truly the best experience I have ever had in an urgent care situation in my 30+ years. Being in the restaurant business, I know the difficulties and rewards of providing great, friendly service and giving the customer time expectations to work within. As I told the doctor on that day, it was clear to me that this clinic was executing some kind of a service culture, and doing a great job at it.

Worry-free billing

I would like to comment on the excellent services that my wife and I have received at the Rohnert Park Urgent Care. We have both been in there for different reasons, yet each time the staff was professional and polite. I found the doctor to be capable, knowledgeable, and considerate. I also really appreciate the fact that all staff are under the Concentra umbrella. At other faculties I can never get an answer about which doctors are covered by my insurance. When I visit Concentra I have no worries that I will be receiving bills by doctors not covered by my insurance.

On March 16, 2009, I was rushed to your facility with 2nd degree burns to [my] face, scalp, [and] bilateral hands, due to explosion of a tank containing 500 degree hot sealant at a window manufacturing plant. Your immediate and caring staff’s response went beyond the call of duty and deserves a letter of thanks and gratitude.

Positive and warm environment

"Today I completed more than three weeks of therapy; it has been a very difficult journey. I have improved tremendously thru a rigorous therapy program. I believe the physical therapy was only a piece of the healing equation. Mr. V really provided me with the correct formula of exercises to help not only the healing process, but these exercises encouraged the strengthening process as well. Mr. V not only has a depth of knowledge when it comes to therapy, but he has a deep passion and desire to see each client receive the much needed attention to help them recover. I truly appreciate the level of quality and care I was given by Mr. V.

I would also be remised if I didn't acknowledge the positive and warm environment that the Hammond Concentra clinic provides. As you enter the clinic in Hammond the healing begins, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They seem to maintain a positive attitude and I really do appreciate their commitment as well! Also, thanks to the Doctor for calling the correct problem, and the director of the clinic for handing out water and granola bars! "When I called, I expected that I would be treated how other providers (PT, pain management and the like) treat potential and existing patients: That I would receive a voice message telling me to leave my information so I could get a call back within 24-48 hours. Then if I were lucky enough, I would get an appointment within the next 30-90 days.

Not only did Ms. T. speak with me right away, but she updated me every step of the way. She went out of her way to call the clinic and schedule the appointment for me, for today, which I feel is a miracle in and of itself. During the process, she explained that she didn't want to keep me holding on the phone any longer than necessary. She always explained to me what was going on, when she would call me back and what information she would be giving me.

I have never had such phenomenal service in my entire life, and I want to thank you for having someone so courteous, perceptive and knowledgeable about what it takes to make customers happy. "After all of my operations and rehab over many years, I consider Mr. F at your West William Cannon center, one of the best physical therapists I have ever dealt with. Mr. F has the ability to find the sore spot or tight muscle and relieve the pain with hand manipulation. During the past six weeks, I have watched him do hand manipulation on many people, with the same excellent results every time. I observed Mr. F over the past number of weeks, and have seen him easily establish contact and trust with his patients. He is able to relate the person's pain or strain [into] something that they fully understand. You should consider yourself very lucky to have Mr. F [as part] of the William Cannon facility."

Friendly, comforting atmosphere

"Aside from the PT and medical treatment, for which I am incredibly grateful, [Mr. D and Ms. O] both make it a pleasure to come in so often. [My] injury has not only caused me pain and discomfort, but it has also turned my life a bit upside down in terms of work, relocating, and not being nearly as active as I'd like [to be]. Nevertheless, you each give a friendly sense of comfort and empathy, which has made recovery immeasurably better.
