The new Core Content in Urgent Care Medicine program is funded by Concentra and will be the only educational curriculum that focuses on the complex nature of the specialized practice of urgent care.

Concentra’s assistant vice president of product development for urgent care responds to a recent op-ed by a member of USA Today’s editorial board, who asserts that easing the growing number of emergency rooms visits faces serious hurdles. “When a more convenient, lower-cost alternative to the emergency room is made available, consumers will use it,” states Ayers. “This alternative exists today in the form of urgent care.”

Now available at most Concentra Medical Centers, our urgent care services deliver patients welcoming, respectful, and skillful care for nearly all non life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

Urgent care is a growing branch of medicine that bridges the gap between a patient’s primary care physician and the Emergency Room (ER). Urgent care treats the same non-life-threatening conditions as the ER late at night and on weekends, when most doctor offices are closed.
