National Fitness Month: Making It a Family Affair
Share |

April is National Fitness Month, and Concentra is joining the effort by promoting ways to make fitness fun, with a special focus on families.

Why focus on families? Because the habits we learn as children are the habits we carry with us into adulthood. So it’s especially important for parents to focus on developing healthy habits in their children.

And healthy fitness habits are a great place to start. These days, children typically spend a lot of time sitting, whether in their desks at school or in front of the television at home. As parents, we can help by coming up with fun ways for our children to be active – and then joining them in the fun.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Plan a vacation filled with fun activities, like biking or skiing
  • Visit a local park
  • Go for a hike

For more tips to make fitness fun for your family, you can visit the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, or you can download the Concentra Fit and Fun flyer.
