Concentra recently announced that it has acquired the primary care occupational health and urgent care assets of Springfield Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, P.C., d/b/a Springfield Physical Medicine, in Springfield, Mo. Concentra will combine its existing Springfield practice with that of Springfield Physical Medicine to form a new Concentra Medical Centers facility at Springfield Physical Medicine’s location:

The acquisition furthers Concentra's commitment to improving America's health, one patient at a time, and provides an opportunity to grow the practice's existing urgent care business and add physical therapy services. Concentra will continue to provide episodic care, preventive wellness, and health education to current and new employer-clients throughout the region.

Serving the Springfield community for more than 18 years, Charles Mauldin, M.D., founded Springfield Physical Medicine in 1989 with the goal of being a physical medicine and rehabilitation practice. Over the years, the practice grew due to direct referrals from company clients and soon became the preferred practice for an increasing number of employers. Dr. Mauldin is currently the chairman of the Worker's Compensation committee of Greene County and joins the Concentra team as Staff Physician; along with former Springfield Physical Medicine staff member Kristi Waeltz, who will serve as Center Administrator.
