In December 2006, Concentra Mobile Services was awarded a contract to provide physical examinations to more than 300 volunteers of a Federal residential national service program at the organization’s Sacramento, Calif., campus. The mission of the residential national service program is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. Volunteers range in age from 18 to 24. In January of 2007, we completed 110 examinations during Phase 1 of the exam with Phase 2 to be completed in September/October 2007. This contract was awarded for one base year plus four option years.
Physical examinations included full body exam, vital signs, height, weight, vision, hearing, Ortho-Neuro, pregnancy testing, dental review, urine albumin and sugar, PPD testing, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations and physical recommendations.

In October 2006, Concentra implemented a full-service on-site occupational health clinic for a large Air Force Base in Utah. The clinic employs 18 medical and non-medical staff, including two physicians and a physician assistant, providing occupational medicine and surveillance services to 12,000 civilian employees of the base. Specifically, these services include but are not limited to: pre-employment, fitness-for-duty, disability/retirement, termination and periodic and special purpose physical examinations, drug screens, injury/illness care, exposure monitoring, preventative services and respiratory fit testing. Concentra is also responsible for interpreting clinic data; analyzing trends and reporting this information to Air Force base officials; providing ergonomic and industrial hygiene consultations, case management and disability management services; recommending temporary or light duty assignments, and participating in the Base’s Personnel Reliability Program.
The contract was awarded for a one year base period with an additional four option years. Concentra is in the second year of performing services for this Air Force Base.

In 2005, a Federal hospital experienced a backlog of more than 300 patients requiring physical therapy services. The hospital contacted Concentra for assistance and to date we have provided physical therapy services to approximately 400 veterans at nine local Concentra Medical Centers. Cases were completed in an average of 2.9 visits, much lower than the average of 14.6 physical therapy visits.* More than 93% of patients surveyed about Concentra’s physical therapy services reported their PT visits exceeded expectations and would recommend their physical therapist to a family member or friend.
