Q: How do I schedule flu shots for my employees?
A: Learn how to schedule your on-site flu shot clinic. Or if you want your employees to visit your local Concentra Medical Center to receive flu shots, contact that Center’s Account Representative, who can provide the protocol, pricing, and required service agreement for your area.
10-13-09 Update: Due to the national shortage of seasonal flu vaccine, we are not able to schedule any additional on-site flu clinics at this time. If the vaccine supply changes, we will provide updates on this site.
Q: When will flu shots become available?
A: We are currently scheduling on-site flu vaccinations to begin in September.
Q: Will Concentra provide vaccinations for pregnant women?
A: Women who will be pregnant during influenza season are considered high risk for complications from influenza and should get the vaccine. Concentra will provide inactivated influenza vaccinations for pregnant women.
Q: What are the age requirements for providing vaccinations at On-Site clinics and for walk-in customers?
A: The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the annual flu vaccination for children aged 6 months and older. However, Concentra only administers vaccinations to children ages 9 and older. Concentra requires parental consent to administer vaccinations to minors; in most cases, age 18 is considered an adult, but that varies from state-to-state.
Q: Are flu shots available at the Medical Center locations?
A: We are offering walk-in flu shots, payable through the patient’s group health insurance plan (call the center to find out if your specific insurance plan is accepted), cash, or personal credit card. To avoid long wait times, please contact the nearest center for pricing, requirements, and any specific hours relative to giving flu shots in that center. The patient will need to present a photo ID (driver’s license or passport). Go to the Location Finder for the address, phone number, and directions to the nearest center.
Q: How is the vaccine administered?
A: The Concentra representative will inject the vaccination into the upper arm of the patient. We recommend that your employees wear clothing that allows easy access to this area.
