Keith Newton is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Concentra. He answers questions about new programs and initiatives and what they mean for patients, customers, and Concentra employees.
What is happening at Concentra?
It is an exciting time to be part of Concentra, with our focus on improving health, one patient at a time, through affordable and efficient solutions for employers and patients. We are actively expanding our customer base, increasing our footprint with additional medical center and employer on-site locations, and enhancing the scope of our products and services.
What can clients and patients expect from Concentra in the coming months?
Concentra has many exciting programs and initiatives we will be introducing in the next several months that complement or enhance our existing range of services. We will continue to advance our customer service initiatives with a focus on improving our patient experiences. We will also offer new programs that help employers positively affect the health of their employees, resulting in a more productive workforce and a reduction in their overall health care costs.
What is Concentra TotalCare?
TotalCare is one of these new programs that we think has the potential to literally transform workplace health care. It blends primary, preventive, occupational, and environmental health services with a focus on three key areas of employee health: wellness, fitness, and safety. Learn more about TotalCare and read additional questions and answers.
How will these new changes and initiatives impact Concentra employees?
Our employees – we refer to each other as colleagues – have and will be a primary focus. By hiring and retaining colleagues who deliver our services with skill and demonstrate our core values in everything they do, we will naturally provide the level of patient and customer care that we aspire to. These new changes and initiatives should create an opportunity for personal growth for many of our colleagues.
What changes can be expected with Concentra Urgent Care?
In 2007, we began an initiative to provide Urgent Care at all of our 324 Concentra Medical Centers by mid-2008. This is an important strategic move for Concentra as we expand our focus to serve a broader base of patients with a goal of improving the health of Americans.
What do these programs and enhancements mean to the core business of Concentra?
Concentra began almost 30 years ago by providing cost-effective health care solutions to employers. With most of the nation’s largest employers as part of our more than 135,000 customers, we continue to examine ways to improve their health care outcomes, either through new programs, on-site facilities, or select services. Using our expertise in occupational health as the model for new initiatives, we will continually strengthen our commitment to improving the health and wellness of the nation’s workforce.
